The Festival |

This eleventh Festival is slated for March 1- 17, 2002. This year's films explore a wide range of themes including artists and their vision, cultural identity, sexual politics, breast cancer survival, Islamic women, and much more. These contemporary works showcase the diversity of women's lives around the world and their struggle for rights and dignity. Everyone is welcome to attend. Tickets are $7 for adults and $5 for youths and seniors. Festival passes of five shows for $30 will be available at local bookstores starting mid- February, during Gallery Walk at the River Garden, and at the door. Opening night The gala opening of the festival will be held Friday, March 1 with the Gallery Walk opening of "Visions and Voices" in the Hooker-Dunham Theater & Gallery. Women from the greater-Brattleboro community will perform with music, dance, and spoken pieces from 6 to 8 PM in the Hooker Dunham Theater, followed by the festival's opening film, "The Gleaners and I" at 8:10. The show of visual arts will be up for the entire month of March.
