The 2007 Women's Film Festival in Brattleboro, VT is scheduled from Friday, March 9 through Sunday, March 18, during Women’s History Month, will be one of the most upbeat and entertaining festivals of recent memory. In its sixteenth year, the festival is a fundraiser and outreach event for the Women’s Crisis Center of Windham County. This year’s festival will feature 27 films from around the globe, almost all made by women, about women.

Condensed this year into a ten-day continuous event, film aficionados and supporters of the Crisis Center should be prepared to make some hard choices. Most films, however, will show twice, and at least once at a handicapped-accessible venue.

All films will be shown at the Hooker-Dunham Theater, 139 Main Street, at the Latchis Theatre, located at 48 Main Street, or at the New England Youth Theatre, 100 Flat Street, Brattleboro, VT. [Locations]

On Friday, March 2, during Brattleboro's monthly Gallery Walk, an art exhibition and silent auction, Visions and Voices will open and a gala reception will be held at the Sanctuary Hooker-Dunham Theater & Gallery at 139 Main Street . The art opening and reception will take place from 5 to 7:45 PM.

“Coming Attractions” clips from the roster of festival films will be shown in the Hooker-Dunham Theater at the opening of the gallery show on March 2. Also on this evening at 7 & 9 pm, the Latchis will hold a special screening to benefit the Crisis Center.
